Obituary for Robert L. Peaslee

ROBERT L. PEASLEE, 75, of 128 Allengate Avenue, Pittsfield, died Thursday, November 12, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield, January 27, 1934, a son of William H. Peaslee, Sr., and
Hope E. Miller Peaslee, he was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a graduate of
Pittsfield High School. He later attended Berkshire Community College where he
graduated with an Associates Degree in Fire Science at Berkshire Community College.
He was a Korean War veteran.
Mr. Peaslee was employed by the City of Pittsfield as a firefighter with the
Pittsfield Fire Department for fifteen years until retiring in 1980 when he was injured in
an accident while on duty for the City.
Prior to working for the City, he had been an armored car driver, and had also
worked for A.H. Rice Silk Mill, and Lee Supermarket. He was a communicant of St. Charles Church and a communicant of the
former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Mr. Peaslee was a member of the Berkshire County Deputy Sheriff's Association and a member of the Pittsfield Senior Center.
He enjoyed traveling, hunting, and fishing.
Mr. Peaslee's wife, the former Antoinette Maria Bertoldi, whom he married
January 27, 1960, in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, died February 1, 2005.
He is survived by a brother, Douglas M. Peaslee of New Port Richey, Florida, and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by three brothers, Louis Peaslee, Willliam H. Peaslee,
Jr., and Kenneth Peaslee, and three sisters, Grace Beals, Dorothy Saldo, and Marguerite
Keefner.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for ROBERT L. PEASLEE, who died Thursday, November
12, will be Friday, November 20, at 9:00 a.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME, with
Rev. Peter A. Gregory, Pastor of St. Charles Church, officiating. Burial will follow
in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.,
at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Peaslee
may be made to the Pittsfield Permanent Fireman's Association or to HospiceCare
in The Berkshires, both in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
