Obituary for Robert M. Lenihan

ROBERT 'BOB' MICHAEL LENIHAN, 70, of 603 Williams Street, a long-time
resident of Pittsfield, died Wednesday, November 7, at his home. Born in Pittsfield on September 19, 1937, the son of Walter J. and Mary J.
O'Brien Lenihan, he was a 1955 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Following the Korean War, he served with peacekeeping forces from April 1960
to April 1963, he served sixteen months as a sergeant in Seoul.
Mr. Lenihan was employed by the U.S. Post Service as a window clerk in the
Pittsfield Post Office for 33 years, retiring in 1999.He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. He was a member of the postal union. He was a Boston Red Sox fan who enjoyed
dining, reading, and his grandchildren and his dogs. He leaves his wife, the former Jean Marie DiMassimo, whom he married April
26, 1958, in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Brian M. Lenihan of Worcester and Scott
R. Lenihan of Pittsfield; a daughter, Kimberly J. Lenihan of Naples, Florida; and
two grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE: ROBERT 'BOB MICHAEL LENIHAN, died Wednesday, November 7, peace-
fully at home with his family by his side. He will be sorely missed by his immediate and
large extended family, including his daughter-in-law, the former Isabel Ramos (Mrs.
Scott). Grampy will be especially missed by his two grandsons, Cole and Maxwell, and
his grandpups, Puccinelli and Oscar, who he adored and treasured. A third grandpup,
Tassy, predeceased Bob, but the family is confident that she is close by his side now.
He was pre-deceased by two brothers, James Lenihan and John Lenihan and two sisters,
Joan Agar and Patricia Daniels.
At Mr. Lenihan's request, services will be private. In lieu of flowers, those who
wish may make a contribution in his memory to the American Heart Association in care
of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
