Obituary for Robert LaPorte

Robert LaPorte, 81 formerly of 50 Forrest Place and the Elm House on Elm Street for 17 years died Saturday January 17, 2015 at Hillcrest Commons where he has resided for four years. Born on January 5, 1934 in Pittsfield a son of Victor N. LaPorte and Viola Tremblay LaPorte Brooks. He attended schools in Pittsfield. At one time he worked as a laborer for the railroad. He enjoyed boxing, movies, music, television and walking. He is survived by two nephews, Steven L. Richmond of Lenox, Ma. and Gerald W. Richmond of Pittsfield. Also by several cousins including, Beverly Morin, Calvin and Craig Cusson. He was predeceased by a sister, Vera M. Richmond and by two brothers, Albert and Richard LaPorte.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, Ma. 01201. Burial will be in the spring at Pittsfield Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers memorials in his memory may be made to Elm House in care of the funeral home.
