Obituary for Robert L. Deloria

Robert Leon Deloria, 84, of 79 Roberta Road, formerly of Strong Avenue, Pittsfield, died Thursday, July 14, 2016, at his home.
Born in Chicopee on September 30, 1931, the son of Edward and Verna St. Cyr Deloria,
he was a 1949 graduate of Chicopee High School and later graduated from General Electric
Company's drafting apprenticeship program.
He served with the United States Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Deloria was employed by General Electric Company where he was a draftsman in the Drafting and Manufacturing Department for forty three years. He also taught drafting at
Pittsfield High School and Taconic High School.
He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and served on the Finance Committee.
He was a member of the G.E.A.A. where he enjoyed playing golf. He also enjoyed fishing and
spending time with his family.
Mr. Deloria leaves his wife, the former Joan Marie Connors, whom he married September 3, 1955.
He is also survived by two sons, Mark D. Deloria and his wife, Kathleen, of West Roxbury, and David M. Deloria of Danvers; a daughter, Lynn A. Maynard of Pittsfield; four sisters, Jeanne Blanchette of Chicopee, Ann Flurey of South Hadley, Marie Slowick of Chicopee, and Frances Deloria of Munson; two brothers, Gerald Deloria of Harrisonburg, Virginia, and John Deloria of Chicopee; his brother-in-law, Daniel Connors, Jr., and his wife, Emma; three grandchildren, Victoria Tesoniero, Christopher Deloria, and Erich Maynard; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by three brothers, Edward Deloria, Ken Deloria, and Roland
Deloria.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Robert Leon Deloria will be held Tuesday, July 19, at 9:15 a.m., from
DERY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church,
celebrated by Rev. Michael F. Bernier, Administrator. Entombment will follow in St. Michael the Archangel Mausoleum at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Monday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pittsfield Salvation Army
in care of the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
