Obituary for Rita Eva Moffett

Rita Eva Moffett, 81, of 276 Ingalls Road, Cheshire, MA died Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Craneville Place of Dalton where she has resided for the past two years.
She was born in Pittsfield, MA on March 25, 1934 a daughter of the late Oliver J. and Juliana Dargy Houle. She attended Notre Dame Elementary School in Pittsfield and was a 1951 graduate of Saint Joseph's Central High School. She also had attended the former Berkshire Business College. From 1950 to 1951 she had been employed for the former Rice & Kelley Furniture Store. She was employed for the General Electric Company Naval Ordnance Dept. for 38 years retiring as a secretary in July of 1990. She was a communicant of Saint Mary of the Assumption Church where she was active in church affairs. She enjoyed RV camping, playing the organ and especially her family and her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Raymond J. Moffett whom she married on August 7, 1954 at the former Notre Dame Church in Pittsfield. A daughter, Annette M. Puccio and her husband Gary of Cheshire, MA. A son, Richard B. Moffett and his wife Nancy of Adams, MA. A brother, Bernard R. Houle and his wife Barbara of Pittsfield, MA. Five Grandchildren, Jennifer Puccio Dascanio, Corey Puccio, Aimee Moffett Lucenta, Katie Moffett and Matthew Moffett. Five Great Grandchildren, Ava, Reilly, Jakob, Camille and Brinley.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Thursday November 5, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Saint Mary of the Assumption Church in Cheshire celebrated by the Rev. David Raymond, pastor. Burial will follow in the Cheshire Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorials in her memory may be made to Saint Mary's Church the Cheshire Fire Dept. or the Alzheimer's Association all in care of the DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME 121 North State Rd. Cheshire, MA 01225 which is handling arrangement. The family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to the employees of Craneville Place of Dalton for the exceptional care and compassion shown to Rita over the years.
