Rita Annette Martin, 77, of Pittsfield, passed away March 20, 2022, at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield, MA, on May 20, 1944, she was a daughter of Isidore and Eva Bertrand Theoret. Rita graduated in 1962 from St. Joseph Central High School and then attended Berkshire Community College. She received her Bachelors degree from Smith College in 2005. She had been employed as a cost analyst for 31 years at General Electric and General Dynamics, retiring in 1998. At one time she had also been employed by Berkshire Life and, most recently, worked at the Berkshire Athenaeum as a Local History Assistant.

She leaves behind her sisters Irene and husband Bernie, Anne and husband Richard, and Helen and partner Mike, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Robert.

Per her wishes there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
