Obituary for Rita N. Buamgartner

RITA NATALIE BAUMGARTNER, 87, formerly of Columbia Arms, Pittsfield,
died Wednesday, April 1, at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield, January 30, 1922, a daughter of Nathan J. and Anna E. Book
Allen, she attended Pittsfield schools and was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mrs. Baumgartner was employed by General Electric Company as an assembler
for 15 years retiring in 1984.
Prior to that she had worked as a clerk at the former W.T. Grant store and as a
clerk at the former J.J. Newberry.
Mrs. Baumgartner was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and also attended St.
Mark Church. She enjoyed her grandchildren. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling.
Her husband, Albert E. Baumgartner, died April 6, 1968. Mrs. Baumgartner is survived by a son, Michael A. Ciaburri and his wife, Gloria,
of Pittsfield; two grandchildren, Michael J. Ciaburri and his wife, Heidi, and Melissa J.
Barnes and her husband, Robert; three great grandchildren, Zachary Ciaburri, Amber
Barnes, and Ashley Barnes.
She was pre-deceased by a brother, Floyd Allen, and two sisters, Mary Perry
and Jean Russell.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for RITA NATALIE BAUMGARTNER, who died Wednesday,
April 1, will be private with burial to be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There are no calling
hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Baumgartner may be made to
HospiceCare in The Berkshires in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street,
Pittsfield.
