Obituary for Rita J. Archambault

RITA J. ARCHAMBAULT, 83, of 6 Lowden Street, Pittsfield, died peacefully in her sleep on Monday, June 8, at Providence Care Center of Lenox. Born in Pittsfield, February 3, 1926, a daughter of the late Oscar and Juliette
Rheaume Bonneau, she was a member of the first graduating class of Notre Dame School
in 1940 and a member of the 1944 graduating class of Pittsfield High School.
She was employed as a secretary for the former Berkshire Street Railway Company for many years. She had also worked as a deli clerk and meat wrapper for nine years at the former First National Store. Mrs. Archambault was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and had been a
communicant of the former Notre Dame Church.
She enjoyed crocheting and reading.
Her husband, George, whom she married on August 24, 1946, in Notre Dame Church, died October 16, 2004. Survivors include her daughter, Joie L Bourassa and her husband, Arthur; a granddaughter, Amy Goodrich and her husband, Jason; and a great granddaughter, Brianna Goodrich; as well as two sisters, Della Shogry and her husband, George, and Bertha DelGallo and her husband, Remo; a brother, Victor Bonneau and his wife, Suzanne; and several nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.


FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for RITA J. ARCHAMBAULT, who died Monday, June 8, will be Thursday, June 11, at 9:00 a.m., at St. Joseph Church celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Michael A. Shershanovich, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. At the request of Mrs. Archambault, there are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Archambault may be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires in care of the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
