Obituary for Rick and Darlene Galliher

Patrick Edward “Rick” Galliher 74, and his wife, Darlene Ann Galliher 73, of Lanesborough, passed away June 18th at Hillcrest Commons and Berkshire Medical Center, respectively.

Rick was born in Pittsfield on September 17, 1948 to Edward and Margaret Poopor Galliher, and Darlene was born on February 22, 1950 to Joseph and Ann Slosky Moore.

Rick attended Dalton schools including Wahconah Regional High School, while Darlene attended Pittsfield High School and Berkshire Community College.

They were married on June 1, 1990.

Mr. Galliher was a truck driver for General Sand and Stone and most recently was a superintendent of the Hinsdale Highway Department for many years.

Mrs. Galliher most recently was an office administrator for the Berkshire County District Attorney’s office for several years, retiring in 2015.

Rick was a former member of the Dalton Fire Department and the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed his home and was very handy around the house. He also took pleasure in reading.

Darlene loved gardening, baking and the sunshine, especially during her yearly trips to Florida.

Mr. and Mrs. Galliher are survived by their children Kerri A. White and boyfriend William Pearce of Clifton Park, NY, son, Sean J. White and wife Lisa of Ball Ground, GA. Rick’s brother, Joseph M. Galliher of Dalton, MA and his sister, Kathleen M. Burke of Dalton. He was predeceased by his brother, James “Cutter” Galliher on June 21, 2022. Darlene was predeceased by two brothers, Wayne and Michael Moore. They both leave several nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours will be held, Friday, June 23, 2023 from 9 to 10 a.m. at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield. A funeral home service will be held at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in their names to Lanesborough Volunteer Fire Department or the Dalton Fireman’s Association in care of the funeral home.
