Obituary for Richard James Supranowicz
Richard James Supranowicz, 49, of Pittsfield, beloved father of Hannah Rose Supranowicz, passed away at home on August 17, 2016.
Born in Pittsfield, MA, on May 23, 1967, Rich was the son of Beverly Elsensohn Supranowicz and the late Stanley Thomas Supranowicz. He graduated from Taconic High School in 1986. Like his father whom he adored, Rich was a gifted carpenter who had a keen eye for design. A talented musician as well, he played both the guitar and
drums. Whether nurturing plants in his garden or catch and release fishing, Rich
had a special connectedness with nature. Of all these roles he 'played in his life, he
took the most pride in that of being Hannah's dad. A kind and gentle man, Rich
will be remembered for his witty sense of humor, caring spirit and beautiful soul.
In addition to his daughter, Hannah, he leaves his mother, Beverly
Supranowicz of Pittsfield, MA, his brother, Raymond Supranowicz of Lee, MA,
two sisters, Sharon Braverman and her husband Robert of Newbury Park, CA, and Donna McLaughlin and her daughter, Erin McLaughlin of Aiken, SC. He also leaves his former wife; Michelle Gibbs Supranowicz of Pittsfield, MA.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Celebration of Life for Richard J. Supranowicz of Pittsfield who passed away August 17, 2016 will be held Monday, September 12, 2016 at 7:30 PM at the DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held Monday, September 12, 2016 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in memory of Rich may be made to the Hannah Supranowicz Fund at Greylock Federal Credit Union to be used for life events and the future education of his daughter. Donations are in care of the Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
