Obituary for Richard F. LaVigne

Mr. Richard F. LaVigne, 77, of 158 Doreen Street, died Wednesday morning, December 11, 2013 after many years of suffering from Alzheimer's disease.
A lifelong resident of Pittsfield, he was born on September 5, 1936, the son of the late Francis and Helen Wojtkowski LaVigne. He was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1954 graduate of Pittsfield High School. He was employed at General Electric as a draftsman for over thirty-five years. He retired in 1991. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and also a volunteer and past treasurer of the Berkshire Stamp Club.
He leaves his wife, the former D. Katherine McKenna whom he married on April 21, 1956 at St. Mark Church. He is also survived by his children; Debra Callahan and her husband Timothy Callahan, Phillip LaVigne and his wife Lisa LaVigne, Susan Pratt and her husband Carl Pratt, and David LaVigne. He also leaves eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Richard F. LaVigne who died December 11, 2013 will be private. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in memory of Mr. LaVigne may be made to Hospice Care in the Berkshires in care of the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA 01201 which is in charge of arrangements.
