Obituary for Richard M. Keane

Mr. Richard Matthew Keane, 84, of 379 East Street, Providence Court Apartments, Pittsfield, Ma. died Friday morning at the home of his daughter Theresa I. Wilson of 9 McKinley Drive, Delmar, New York where he had been visiting. He has resided in Pittsfield since the late 1970's, prior to moving to Pittsfield he was a resident of Dalton, Ma. since 1960, coming from the Boston, Ma. area. Born on November 2, 1921 in Roxbury, Ma. a son of the late Richard and Annie Carroll Keane. He attended Boston, Ma. Schools and was a 1957 graduate of Bentley College from the CPA program. He was a World War II United States Army Veteran. Mr. Keane was a certified public accountant for Kimberly Clarke in Lee, Ma. from 1965 until his retirement in 1977. While in the Boston area he was a Bus Driver for the Massachusetts Transit Authority for several years. He was a member of the Wahconah Country Club of Dalton and a member of the Dalton American Legion where enjoyed bowling. He enjoyed playing golf. His former wife the former, Charlotte F. Garrett Keane predeceased him. He is survived by three sons, Robert F. Keane of Collegeville, PA., Garrett P. Keane of Amherst, New Hampshire and Paul A. Keane of Pittsfield, Ma. Four daughters, Mary Denise Lum of Eagle River, Alaska, Constance A. Feola, Charlotte F. Keane and Theresa I. Wilson all of Delmar, New York. 18 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Richard M. Keane who died in the North Tower of the World Trade Center, New York City on Sept. 11, 2001.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours for Richard M. Keane who died August 11, 2006 will be held Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at the DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 East Main Street, Dalton, Ma. from 5 to 8 P.M. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Thursday evening at 6:00 P.M. at Saint Catherine of Siena Church, Albany, New York. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made in his memory to The Keane Foundation, P.O. He was predeceased by a brother and four sisters.
