Obituary for Richard E. Hunt
Richard Earl Hunt, 86, formerly of Brooklyn, New York, died Sunday April 6, 2014 at Craneville Place in Dalton. He was born on August 14, 1927 in Pittsfield, the son of the late William F. and Florence L. Colburn Hunt. He was educated in Pittsfield schools.
Mr. Hunt entered the Merchant Marines in August 1945 and served in the Merchant Marines for most of his life. He had moved out of the area when he was seventeen and only returned recently.
Mr. Hunt is survived by his brother: Charles E. Hunt ; his three sisters-in-law: Janice Hunt, Dolly Hunt, and Ginger Hunt; all of Pittsfield; many nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews. He was pre-deceased by his four brothers: Clifford, Donald, J. Robert, and Gerry; and his four half-sisters: Elaine, Dot, Betty, and Rita.
FUNERAL NOTICE
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield is in charge of arrangements.
