Obituary for Richard E. Fillio

Richard Evans Fillio, 86, formerly of 338 Onota Street, Pittsfield, died Sunday, December 11, 2016, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on April 2, 1930, the son of the late Lloyd and Mabel Evans Fillio, he was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1948 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
A Korean War veteran, he enlisted with the United States Army on February 25, 1952,
Served overseas nearly a year, and was honorably discharged on February 11, 1954.
Mr. Fillio was employed by Pittsfield News Company where he was a truck driver and
newspaper distributor for many years. He retired in 1995.
He was a communicant of St. Mark Church.
His family was special to him. He also enjoyed dancing and traveling.
Mr. Fillio leaves his wife, the former Margaret Perrault of Pittsfield. His first wife, the late Patricia Fillio Ackley, died August 15, 2013.
He is also survived by his four sons, Richard, Steven, Thomas, and Jeffrey; two daughters, Patricia and Susan; three grandchildren, Nick, Kyle, and Georgiana, and four great
grandchildren, Nicole, Sophia, Jessie, and Autumn, and his five nieces.
He was pre-deceased by his sister, Elaine Houghtling.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Remembrances for Richard Evans Fillio will be held Saturday, December 17, at 11:00
AM, at DERY FUNERAL HOME. Calling hours will be held Saturday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the remembrances. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark Church in care of the Dery Funeral Home 54 Bradford Street,
Pittsfield.
