Obituary for Richard Leigh Conant

Richard Leigh Conant, 91, of 3 Park Terrace, Dalton, died Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at
Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Auburn, Maine, on May 11, 1924, the son of Frederick and Ruth Berry Conant,
he was a graduate of schools in Maine.
An electrician by trade, Mr. Conant was also employed by Carr Hardware & Supply Co.,
Inc., where he worked in electrical sales for thirty years.
He was an avid square dancer for 50 years and enjoyed many cruises with square
dance clubs. Mr. Conant leaves his wife, the former Rosalie Palmer, whom he married August 2,
1947. Besides his wife, Mr. Conant is survived by two daughters, Brenda Williamson of Dalton and Lois Ellsworth of Dalton; two sons, Brian Conant and his wife, Judy, of Windsor, and Lee
Conant and his girlfriend, Kathy, of Cheshire; two brothers, Donald Conant of Lewiston, Maine,
and Bruce Conant and his wife, Judy, of San Diego, Calif.; as well as five grandchildren and five
Great grandchildren.
He was pre-deceased by a brother, Rodger Conant.





FUNERAL NOTICE:
A celebration of the life of Richard L. Conant will take place at a later date. There are no
calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jimmy Fund or
to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, both in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street,
Pittsfield.
