Obituary for Richard J. Belford
Richard J. Belford, 89 of Pittsfield, passed away February 10, 2022 at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on February 19, 1932, he was the son of the late Richard and Mary Jane Brombach Belford.
He was a 1949 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Mr. Belford married the former Frances C. Boulais on January 26, 1957. She predeceased him in 1992. He was also predeceased by his sister Lily Kendrick.
Mr. Belford was a Tool and Die Maker for 40 years at Sprague Electric, retiring in 1995.
He is survived by his two daughters, Susan Labbe (Normand) and Regina Belford, two sons, Richard J. Belford, Jr. and Robert Belford (Andrea). He leaves his life partner, Patricia Gavin and her children, Robert Gavin (Karen), William Gavin and Debra Kiley. He leaves six grandchildren and Patricia’s six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Dick enjoyed gardening, fishing, golf, summer BBQs, New England Sports, wintering in Florida, and spending time with his family and friends.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held, SATURDAY, February 19, 2022 at Dery Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and mailed to Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
