Ray William Pulver, Sr., 85, of Cheshire, MA, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021 at his home.
Born in Stamford, CT on June 30, 1935, the son of the late Theodore and Virginia Gritman Pulver, he attended Stamford Connecticut schools.
Mr. Pulver was a United States Army Veteran. He married the former Marjorie J. Savery on July 6, 1974.
He worked for the City of Pittsfield Water Department from January 1970 to July 2000.
A communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, he was a volunteer at the Berkshire Humane Society as well as for the Fourth of July Parade Committee until 1996. Ray was a member of the Berkshire County Deputy Sheriffs Association.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marjorie Pulver of Cheshire, son, Ray W. Pulver, Jr. and partner Thom Antang of San Jose, CA, four daughters, Carol A. Wilson and husband Patrick of Pittsfield, Joanne Alger and husband Steve of Pittsfield, Christine M. Kiernan and husband Patrick of Lanesborough, and Kathleen A. McGill of Pittsfield; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Kellie, Cassandra, Joseph, Jessica, Martin, Angela, Jennifer; thirteen great-grandchildren, Tenley, Amaya, Aiden, Aevary, Alexis, Asher, Anthony, Natiya, Jadon, Mia, Nico, Sofia, Luca; and one great-great-grandchild, Nautica. As well as his dear friend, Bertha “Bert” Boos of Richmond, MA.
He was predeceased by a great-granddaughter, Navaya Molina and a granddaughter, Kimberly Volin.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Services will be private with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
