Obituary for Ralph L. Kendall

Ralph Lawrence Kendall, 72, of Dalton, died Monday, January 14, 2013, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on July 9, 1940, the oldest son of Ralph L. and Elizabeth Croughwell Kendall, he grew up in Dalton and was a graduate of Dalton High School.
Mr. Kendall was employed by Crane & Co., where he was a superintendent.
He retired in 2001 with 38 years service.
He also owned and operated RK Construction for thirty years.
Mr. Kendall was a member of the Dalton Fire Department where he held the rank of Lieutenant, and was an honorary member of the Dalton Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He raised and bred golden retrievers. He enjoyed playing golf and hunting. He always enjoyed hosting his many friends at his Dalton homestead.
Mr. Kendall is survived by two sons, Timothy Kendall of Utah, and Todd Kendall
and his wife, Bonita, of Dalton; three wonderful grandchildren, Drew, Hayden, and Arianna; three brothers, Charles Kendall of Hinsdale, Richard Kendall of Dalton, and Michael Kendall of Orlando, Florida; his aunt, Rita Dorsey of Connecticut; his former wife, Joan Kendall, of Cape Cod; as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins, and good friends.
He was pre-deceased by his beloved son, Thomas J. Kendall, and a brother, George Kendall.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours for Ralph L. Kendall will be held Friday, January 18, from 2:00 to
5:00 p.m., at DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton. In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions may be made to the Dalton Fireman's Association or to Boy Scout Troop 4, both in care of DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 East Main Street, Dalton. A celebration of Mr. Kendall's life will be held immediately following calling hours, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the V.F.W., 366 East Housatonic Street, Dalton.
