Obituary for Phylene S. Amuso

PHYLENE S. AMUSO, 82, of 36 Roselyn Drive, Pittsfield, died Saturday,
June 7, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Newark, New Jersey, July 13, 1925, a daughter of Thomas D. and
Angelina Cozzone Barile, she was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1943
graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mrs. Amuso was employed as a buyer for the former Tiny Towne children's
Boutique where she worked for ten years until the store closed.
During the 1950s she worked as a secretary for Royal Plating in Pittsfield which she and her late husband co-owned.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and a member
of its Ladies Guild. She enjoyed cooking and decorating, and being with her family.
Her husband, Arthur A. Amuso, Sr., whom she married in 1947, died December 28, 1988.
Mrs. Amuso is survived by a son, Arthur A. Amuso, Jr., and his wife, Gloria, of
Pownal, Vermont; a daughter, Phylene C. Amuso of Pittsfield; a sister, Marietta Powers,
of Pittsfield; two grandchildren, Kira Barbeau and her husband, Michael, and David Amuso, and a great grandson, Quinn Aidan Barbeau. She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Thomas D. Barile, Jr. and Joseph A. Barile.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for PHYLENE S. AMUSO, who died Saturday, June 7, will be Friday, June 13, at 9:15 a.m, from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church celebrated by Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, C.S.S., Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contribu-tions in memory of Mrs. Amuso may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
