Obituary for Peter C. Vogel
PETER CHARLES VOGEL, 44, of 176 South Mountain Road, Pittsfield, died
Wednesday, February 20, at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield, September 7, 1963, a son of Arthur L. and Adele Dundon
Vogel, he was a 1981 graduate of Taconic High School.At the time of his death, Mr. Vogel was Owner-Operator of Vogel Equipment
and Truck Repair where he had worked for the past year. Prior to that he had been
employed as a master mechanic for Maxymillian Technologies where he had worked
for 28 years.He was a communicant of St. Charles Church. He had been an assistant coach with for Pittsfield Minor League and Pittsfield
Little League Baseball. He was a hunter, a NASCAR fan, and enjoyed motocross riding with his
children. Mr. Vogel leaves his wife, the former Diane Curtis, whom he married August 14,
1999. Besides his parents and his wife, Mr. Vogel is survived by two sons, Matthew M.
Vogel and Thomas P. Vogel, a daughter, Monica L. Vogel of Pittsfield; a brother,
Michael A. Vogel and his wife, Karen, of Pittsfield; a sister, Judy M. Vogel of Peru; a
brother-in-law, Jay Curtis; a sister-in-law, Janice Miller; a niece, Amy E. Smith and her
husband Paul; and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Diane
M. Vogel.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for PETER CHARLES VOGEL, who died Wednesday, February
20, will be Saturday, February 23, at 8:15 a.m., from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a
Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m., at St. Charles Church, celebrated by Rev. Peter
A. Gregory, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be
Friday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in
memory of Mr. Vogel may be made to Pittsfield Minor League or Pittsfield Little League
Baseball both in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
