Obituary for Paul T. Winnard Sr.

Paul Thomas Winnard, Sr., 87, of 1025 Pecks Road, Pittsfield, died Saturday,
June 15, 2013, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on February 21, 1926, a son of the late Walter Winnard, Sr., who had been a Captain with the Pittsfield Fire Department, and the late Blanche Robarge Winnard, he
was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1943 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
He served with the United States Army during World War II.
Mr. Winnard was employed by General Electric Company where he was a
Supervisor. He retired in 1986 with 42 years service. He was a member of the G.E.
Quarter Century Club.
His grandchildren were his pride and joy.
He enjoyed building puzzles, playing cards, and reading, as well as doing yard work and maintaining his home.
Mr. Winnard's wife, the former Isabelle Carmen Barile, whom he married May 9,
1949, in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, died January 27, 2008.
He is survived by two sons, Paul T. Winnard, Jr. Ph.D., of Glen Burnie, Maryland, and Dr. Robert G. Winnard and his wife, Tracey, of Millersville, Maryland; a daughter, Geralyn M. Jones and her husband, Raymond, of Lanesborough; five grandchildren, Keith Jones, Margaux Winnard, David Jones, Juliette Winnard, and Robbie Winnard; as well as two brothers, Louis Winnard of Windsor, California, and Philip Winnard of Pittsfield; and three sisters, Teresa Tanner of Pittsfield, Alma Panetti of Lenox, and Anne Siemer of Pittsfield. He was predeceased by four brothers; Walter Jr., James, Richard and Leo.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Paul Thomas Winnard, Sr. will be held Thursday, June 20, at
8:15 a.m., from DERY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m., at St. Mark Church celebrated by Rev. John C. Salatino, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Berkshire
Humane Society or to Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter in care of the Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
