Obituary for Paul Frederick Hitchcock

Paul Frederick Hitchcock, 79, of Pittsfield died Monday, October 19, 2015 at Springside of Pittsfield where he has resided for the past two and a half years. Born on March 9, 1936 in Lynn, MA a son of the late Frederick and Ruth Ricker Hitchcock. He was a 1953 graduate of Peabody High School and a 1960 graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology. He was a US Coast Guard Korean War Veteran serving from 1954 until being honorably discharged in 1962. Mr. Hitchcock was last employed as an electrical engineer for Kearfott Guidance & Navigation in Wayne, New Jersey where he retired after 15 years of service in 2003. He also had worked for Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, and Collins Radio and also for Pan Am where he began his working career. He was a member of the Stockbridge Sportsman Club and enjoyed, fly fishing, skeet shooting, hunting and model ship building. He is survived by his wife the former, Kaye R. Kupy whom he married July 30, 1988 at Saint Michaels Church in Wayne, NJ. Two daughters, Jodi Keeler and her husband Stephen of Tennessee and Lisa Hill and her husband John of Kentucky. Two stepsons, Kevin Moore and his wife Linda of PA and Keith Moore and his wife Michelle of Maryland. A stepdaughter, Karen Karaban and her husband of Walter of PA. Two sisters, two grandchildren and six step grandchildren.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 12 Noon at the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA with the Rev. Peter A. Gregory pastor of Saint Charles Church officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 11 A.M. until the time of the service. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorials in his memory be made to Saint Charles Church Memorial Fund or to Hospice Services of Western MA. both in care of the funeral home.
