Obituary for Paul W. Garneau Jr.

Paul W. Garneau, Jr., 76, of 101 Highview Drive, Pittsfield, a former longtime resident of Dalton, died Friday, November 23, 2012, at Springside of Pittsfield where he had resided since March 2011.
Born in Pittsfield on December 28, 1935, the son of Paul W. Garneau, Sr., and
Evelyn Biggs Garneau, he was educated in Dalton schools and was a 1953 graduate of St.
Joseph Central High School.
Mr. Garneau was employed by Crane & Company in both the Bay State and Government Mills from where he retired in 1997 with 30 years service. He had also
worked in Quality Control at Unistress and for Rising Paper. .
He had been a communicant of St. Agnes Church and had been a member of the Moose Club.
He loved music, especially country-western. He enjoyed the outdoors, land-scaping, gardening, and flowers.
Mr. Garneau leaves his wife, Carole A. Twining, whom he married May 24, 1956, in New York.
Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Kevin P. Garneau and his wife, Patricia,
of Pittsfield, Aaron F. Garneau and his wife, Irene, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and
Gregory L. Garneau and his wife, Linda, of Fort Pierce, Florida; two sisters, Betty Hill
of Northampton and Constance Conklin, of Pittsfield; a brother, Gerald Garneau and his
wife, Charlotte, of Brooksville, Florida; six grandchildren, Crystal, Tracy, Heather,
Eric, Danielle, and Evan, and seven great grandchildren, Logan, Owen, Sydney, Taylor,
Jake, Ethan, and Gabrielle.
He was pre-deceased by a son, David W. Garneau, who died in 1985.


FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Paul W. Garneau, Jr., will be held Wednesday, November
28, at 11:00 a.m., at DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton with Rev. Dr. Robert
M. Rennie, Chaplain, HospiceCare in the Berkshires, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Garneau may be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires in care of the Funeral Home, 890 East Main Street, Dalton.
