Obituary for Paul J. Galok Jr.

Paul Joseph Galok, Jr., 28, of Bay Road, Amherst, a native of Lanesborough, died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, after suffering an apparent heart attack.
Born in Pittsfield on September 16, 1984, a son of Paul J. Galok, Sr. and Laurie J. Campbell Galok, he was educated in Lanesborough schools, attended Mount Greylock Junior and Senior High
School where in Eighth Grade, he played Varsity Hockey. and was a 2003 graduate of Vermont Academy in Saxton River, Vermont, where he lettered in three sports (hockey, baseball, and football). He also attended Paul Smith College in Paul Smith, New York, and Berkshire Community College.
At the time of his passing, Paul was employed by Olde Hadleigh Hearth
and Patio in South Hadley where he had worked for the past year as a salesman and technician.
Prior to that, he worked for six years with his Uncle Joe Galok at Berkshire Fire Place. He was also a licensed general contractor in Massachusetts.
Paul was a former member of St. Luke Episcopal Church in Lanesborough which he attended as youth.
He was an avid hockey player who started with the Pittsfield Boy's Club Youth Hockey program, Vermont Academy hockey and men's league hockey in West Springfield, Team U-Mass,
and the MassConn Braves. He was a Boston Bruins and New England Patriots fan. He enjoyed water skiing, snow skiing, and snow boarding.
He loved dogs and cats, music, and especially loved being with his family and friends,
and fishing with his grandfather.
Besides his parents of Lanesborough, he is survived by three brothers, Daniel J.
Goddard and his wife, Dayna, of Truckee, Calif., Matthew E. Goddard of Reno, Nevada,
and Joshua C. Goddard and his companion, Molly Hood, of Phoenix, Arizona; his maternal
grandfather, Vernon L. Campbell and his wife, Sue, of Hinsdale; as well as many aunts,
uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews, and his girl friend, Katie Torres.
He was pre-deceased by his maternal grandmother, Beatrice Campbell and his
paternal grandparents, Steve and Helen Galok; and by his uncle, Rocky Campbell.


FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Paul Joseph Galok, Jr. will be held Saturday, March 30, 2013
at 10:00 AM, at the First Congregational Church of Dalton with Rev. Alex Hunter, Pastor,
officiating. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held Friday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Paul may be made to Honest Beginnings (40 Daniel Shays Highway, Belchertown, MA 01007) in care of the Dery-Foley Funeral Home, 890 East Main Street, Dalton.
