Obituary for Paul M. Andrew Sr.

Paul M. Andrew Sr., 94, formerly of 46 View Street in Pittsfield died peacefully on Friday, June 10, 2016 at the home of his son Mark in Framingham, MA. Born on October 9, 1921 in Pittsfield, he was the son of the late Martin and Mary Silk Andrew. A longtime Pittsfield resident, he was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1938 graduate of Pittsfield High School. He proudly served his country during World War II with the United States Navy. He married the love of his life, the late Marion Boyer Andrew on May 15, 1948. They celebrated 60 years of marriage, shortly before she died on August 28, 2008. Mr. Andrew was employed as a draftsman at General Electric in the Power Transformer Division for over forty years. He retired in 1982. A communicant of St. Mark Church, he also volunteered as the coordinator of the youth basketball program at the Boys & Girls Club of Pittsfield for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his children and 14 grandchildren and also enjoyed working on home & landscaping projects at their homes. He leaves four sons; Paul M. Andrew Jr. and his wife Karen, of South Burlington, VT and their children; Caitlin and her husband Matthew, Collin and Caroline, Bruce B. Andrew of Pittsfield and his son Patrick, Robert K. Andrew and his wife Janet, of Norfolk MA and their children; Lori and Michelle, and Mark M. Andrew and his wife Jill, of Framingham, MA and their children; Kara, Kayla, Ryan and Jason. A daughter; Caryle Zipprich, of Manlius NY and her children; Mark and his wife Emily, Derek, Drew and Jason. He also leaves two twin great grandsons; Luke and Jack Musumeci. He was predeceased by his brother; the late Richard Andrew.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside service with military honors for Paul M. Andrew Sr. who died June 10, 2016 will be held Friday at 12:15 PM at St. Joseph Cemetery conducted by the Rev. John Salatino, pastor of St. Mark Church. Calling hours will be held Friday from 11:00 AM to 12 Noon at the DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield. Memorial donations in memory of Paul may be made to the Pittsfield Boys & Girls Club in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
