Obituary for Patricia Ann Rivers

Patricia Ann Rivers, 61, of 9 Ann Drive, Lanesboro, Ma. died Friday, April 19, 2013 at Berkshire Medical Center after a short illness. Born on March 10, 1952 in Pittsfield a daughter of the late Louis D. and Lorrayne A. Lecuyer Barnes. She attended schools in Lanesboro and was a 1970 graduate of Mount Greylock Regional High School. Patricia was last employed as a scheduler in the office of the Visiting Nurse Association for many years; she also had worked as a waitress for many years at the former Chowder House Restaurant. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Lanesboro, she enjoyed playing in a Pitch League in Pittsfield, and she was a volunteer at the Veterans Food Pantry in Lanesboro. She was a communicant of Saint Charles Church and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She leaves her beloved husband, Bernard S. Rivers whom she married at St. Charles Church on April 24, 1971. A daughter, Rebecca L. Rivers-Echeverria of Orlando, Fl. Two sons, Stephen B. Rivers and his wife Anne Marie of Millville, Ma. and Daniel P. Rivers and his wife Roman of Pittsfield. Two Brothers, John and Richard Barnes both of Pittsfield. Five adored grandchildren, Elijah and Chloe Echeverria, Elizabeth, William and Vanessa Rivers. She was predeceased by a loving Aunt Rita Wigglesworth.

Funeral Notice: Funeral services for Patricia Rivers will be held Thursday, April 25, 2013, at 9:15 a.m. from the DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at Saint Charles Church, celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams, Ma. Calling hours at Dery Funeral Home will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 P.M. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials in her memory be made to the Lanesboro Veterans Food Pantry in care of the funeral home.
