Obituary for Patricia "Patty-Ricia" Gallagher

Mrs. Patricia "Patti-Ricia" Joan Benoit Gallagher, 74, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2015 at Berkshire Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Arthur & Glenna Benoit. She was born on March 7th, 1941 in Pittsfield, MA. She graduated from Pittsfield High School in the class of 1959. She attended Berkshire Business School where she graduated with a certificate in Business Administration. She spent several years working as a legal secretary. In 2006, she retired as the Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director of the Pittsfield Housing Authority following her many years of dedicated service
Patti loved bowling and was in many leagues at Ken's as well as Candle Lanes and Imperial Bowl. She also loved to play bocce and participated in leagues through the Italian American Club as a social member. She had many other hobbies including crossword puzzles, computer games, reading, and Boston sports, most especially the New England Patriots.
She was the beloved mother of Shannon Beauregard and her husband Dan of Acton, MA & Jill Gallagher of Pittsfield, MA. She cherished her two grandchildren, Jarrod and Glenna Beauregard. She was predeceased by her husband, of 50 years, Jerry Gallagher on April 4, 2015.
Patti was a caring and compassionate soul. She would go out of her way to do anything for anyone and do so with her radiant smile. She will be sadly missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. She was also very proud to have been painted by Norman Rockwell.

Funeral Notice: In keeping with her wishes, there will not be any calling hours. A funeral service will be held at Dery Funeral Home on Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA at 11 AM on Friday. Family and friends are welcome to attend and a Celebration of Life that will be held immediately following the service at the Italian American Club on Newell St. If you would like to attend the Celebration of Life only, please join us there at 12 noon. Patti was an avid pet lover. In her lifetime, she raised many cats, dogs, fish and two ferrets. In honor of her memory, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA.
