Obituary for Nina Terpak McDermott
Nina McDermott, 60 of Pittsfield, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2022 at her home with her husband and daughter by her side.
Born in Taunton, MA on March 26, 1961, she was the daughter of Gailpatrick O’Boyle Terpak.
Nina was a graduate of Lenox High School, Western New England College and Cambridge College. She married Steven McDermott on November 26, 1982.
Nina was a beloved third grade teacher for 25 years at Allendale Elementary School.
She was an avid gardener and briefly served as the president of the Springside greenhouse club. She was very active and enjoyed biking, hiking, and skiing. Nina also was a great watercolor painter and thrived on cruise ships. Her passion for adventure led her to always be planning her next getaway.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 39 years, Steven McDermott of Pittsfield; their daughter and Nina’s best friend Abigail McDermott of Pittsfield; brothers, Todd Terpak of Saratoga Springs and Steven Terpak of Pittsfield.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours for Nina M. McDermott will be held, Friday, March 4, 2022 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.
