Obituary for Nancy Ann Smith

NANCY ANN SMITH, 48, of 3667 Cypress Street, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, a longtime resident of Pittsfield before moving to Florida ten years ago, died Sunday, April 13, at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida, after suffering an apparent heart attack.
Born in Pittsfield, June 6, 1959, a daughter of Rita A. Langenback Cummings and
the late Walter H. Cummings, Jr., she was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1978
graduate of Taconic High School.
At the time of her death, Mrs. Smith was employed as a sales manager for
Tru-Value Hardware in Palm Beach Gardens where she had worked for the past three years.
While in Pittsfield, she was employed as a sales manager at the former K-Mart
where she had worked for twenty years until its closing. She enjoyed playing bingo and on-line pogo, the computer, as well as spending time with her children and family and friends.
She leaves her husband, Charles B. Smith, whom she married July 24, 1982, in
St. Charles Church. Besides her husband and her mother, Mrs. Smith is survived by three sons, Shawn C. Smith, Daniel J. Smith, and Matthew W. Smith, all of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida;
her dog, "Duke"; a brother, Walter H. Cummings, III., of Peru; two sisters, Louise A. Shaw of Pittsfield, and Carol A. Cummings of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.


FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for NANCY ANN SMITH, who died Sunday, April 13, will be
Monday, April 21, at 9:15 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., at St. Charles Church, celebrated by Rev. Peter A. Gregory, Pastor. Calling hours will be Sunday, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00
p.m. at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to
the family in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
