Obituary for Nancy Ostrander Bird

Nancy Ostrander Bird, 69, of 971 North State Road, Cheshire died Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Hillcrest Commons surrounded by her loving family.
Born in North Adams, daughter of the late Earl and Vern Lapan Ostrander, she attended local schools and Mt. Greylock Regional High School.
Nancy was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of and spending time her family. She had, at one time, worked at Reynolds General Store in Cheshire and at Jaeschke's Flower Shop in Pittsfield.
She was a creative person and used that creativity to paint, crochet, knit and make many different crafts. She also enjoyed baking cakes, watching the Patriots play football and she especially loved her animals.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 51 years; David A. Bird Sr., her daughter; Wendy A. Fontaine and her husband Edward of Woonsocket, RI, her son; David "Al" Bird Jr., and his wife Terri of Adams, MA, her two grandchildren; Katie Fontaine and Haley Fontaine both of Woonsocket, RI, her sister; Kathryn Zoito and her husband William of Pittsfield and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her two brothers; Michael Ostrander and Jack Ostrander.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Calling hours for Nancy O. Bird of Cheshire who died December 13, 2016 will be held Sunday, December 18 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the DERY CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME, 121 North State Road, Cheshire, MA. A funeral service celebrated by the Rev. William D. Furey will begin at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society or the Cheshire Fire Department in care of the Funeral Home.
