Obituary for Morris Walker

Morris Walker, 58, of 123 Pontoosuc Avenue, Pittsfield, died Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at
Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Greenville, Mississippi, on February 27, 1955, the son of Ola Tauber Walker of California and the late Harvey Walker, Jr., he was a graduate of Mississippi and Boston schools.
Mr. Walker served as a corporal with the United States Marine Corps from August 28, 1979 to
June 1, 1983.
Mr. Walker was, at one time, a clerk for The Salvation Army.
He enjoyed playing cards.
Mr. Walker leaves his wife, the former Lovenia Crockett, whom he married July 21, 2012.
Besides his wife and his mother, he is survived by two sisters, Janice Walker of California and
Vernita Dunston of North Carolina; as well as cousins, nephews, and nieces.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Morris Walker will be held Friday, January 31, at 12:00 noon at DERY
FUNERAL HOME. Calling hours will precede the funeral beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will be Monday, February 3, at 2:00 p.m., at Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery
in Agawam.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army in care of the
Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
