Obituary for Mildred W. Klemansky

Mrs. Mildred W. Klemansky, 78, of Alba Avenue in Pittsfield died Friday at home surrounded by her family. Born on August 8, 1930 in Pittsfield, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Wanda Henderek Aptacy. A longtime resident of Pittsfield, she was educated in Pittsfield schools. A homemaker, she had worked in the office at the former Schaefer-Eaton in Pittsfield for twenty years retiring in 1989. Mrs. Klemansky was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. Devoted to her family, her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she enjoyed attending all of their various school and sporting events. She also enjoyed vacationing at Hampton Beach with her family. She leaves her husband; Richard M. Klemansky Sr. of Pittsfield whom she married on May 28, 1947 at St. Mark Church. Two sons; Dennis F. Klemansky and his companion Tammy Liebenow of Pittsfield and Darryn M. Klemansky of Pittsfield. She also leaves two daughters; Deborah A. Turner and her husband John of Pittsfield and Dayle M. Bowler and her husband Thomas of Pittsfield. Two sisters; Dolores Furtek of Lanesboro and Mary Ann Buchinski and her husband Adolph of Pittsfield. She also leaves her sixteen grandchildren; Misi Bongini, Justin Sukiennik, Katie Higgins, Shirley & Chase Klemansky, Daralyn, Nicholas & Alexis Klemansky, Sami Heffner, T.J., Sarah, Katie & Meghan Bowler, and Michelle, Matthew & Leslie Klemansky as well as her seven great grandchildren; Lauren Turner, Ava & Ryan Heffner, Joey, Anna & Mia Bongini and Addison Klemansky. Mrs. Klemansky was predeceased by two sons; Richard M. Klemansky Jr. and Michael Klemansky.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Mildred W. Klemansky, 78, of Pittsfield who died November 7, 2008 will be held Wednesday at 11:30 AM from the DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 12 Noon at Sacred Heart Church celebrated by the Rev. John T. Smegal, pastor of St. Brigid Parish in Amherst. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours for Mrs. Klemansky will be held Wednesday morning from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Dery Funeral Home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospice Care in the Berkshires in care of the Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, Ma 01201.
