Obituary for Michael A. Winterkorn
Michael A. Winterkorn, 61, of Pittsfield, died Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at Mount
Carmel Care Center in Lenox.
Born in Pittsfield on August 23, 1954, son of the late Leon A. and Edith M. Barzouskas
Winterkorn, he was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1972 graduate of Taconic High
School where he took the electrical course of study, and was also a graduate of Berkshire
Community College.
An electrician by trade since 1972, Mr. Winterkorn worked for local contractors,
including Kent Electric, where he was employed for twenty years.
Mr. Winterkorn was a communicant of St. Charles Church.
He enjoyed skiing, target shooting, and was a Danica Patrick NASCAR fan.
Mr. Winterkorn is survived by two brothers, Richard Winterkorn of Pownal, Vermont,
and Leon A. Winterkorn, Jr., and his wife, Marie, of Plattsburg, New York; and a sister, Marianne
Northrup of Pittsfield; as well as many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, and a
great grandniece.
FUNERAL NOTICE:
Services for Michael A. Winterkorn will be held at a date and time to be announced. The DERY FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
