ALL ARE WELCOME TO JOIN US IN CELEBRATING MICHAEL'S LIFE AT ZUCCO'S FAMILY RESTARURANT ON SATURDAY APRIL 23RD FROM 2:00 PM TO 4:00 PM.
Michael Russell Twining, 77, of Pittsfield, passed away on April 12th 2022 at Berkshire Medical Center.
Michael was born on February 18th 1945 to Russell K. Twining and Helen R. Gogan in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. After graduating from Pittsfield High School he went on to study accounting at Berkshire Community College.
After graduating with a degree in accounting, Michael went on to have a long career with Home Gas Corp. in Great Barrington. With an innovative mindset and appreciation for all things entertainment, he established and ran two successful businesses. As an avid lover of music, Michael started his own DJ business, Real Sound, for many years playing at various venues throughout the Berkshires. He continued with his entrepreneurial ventures as he opened Aspen Wall Lounge in Lenox with long-time friend and business partner, Tom Curtis.
Michael believed in a strong sense of community and was actively involved locally throughout the entirety of his life. He went from playing the French Horn in the Cavaliers Drum Corp at the Annual Fourth of July Parade as a young man to planning the event itself as a member of the Fourth of July Parade Committee. Michael continued to give back to the community as a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus and through retirement became an active volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.
In retirement, Michael enjoyed nothing more than watching sports with his dog, Molly, and spending time with friends and family. He had a special place in his heart for baseball and as a fan of all New England sports teams, the Boston Red Sox were his all-time favorite.
Most of all he loved to spend time with his daughters and grandchildren. He leaves behind his former wife Donna Twining and four daughters, Dawn Schowalter, Michele Hensley, Tricia Pinard, and Beth Twining, and seven grandchildren Joshua Pinard, Cody Duclos, Kayla Pinard, Nicholas Duclos, Kyle Pinard, Lindsay Schowalter, and Zackary Hensley, and his three great-grandchildren Ayden, Russell, and Flynn.
All are welcome and encouraged to attend Michael Russell Twining’s celebration of life at Zucco’s Family Restaurant on Saturday, April 23rd from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
