Obituary for Melissa M. Wendell

Melissa Marie Wendell, 31, of 43 Kellogg Street, Pittsfield died Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Berkshire Medical Center. Born on May 12, 1984 in Pittsfield, MA a daughter of Alfred X. and Wendy M. Aldrich Wendell. She attended schools in Pittsfield as well as Pittsfield High School.
She was last employed for Papa Gino's Restaurant for several years and prior to that she had worked at Kripalu Center.
Melissa had a good heart and was very helpful, she was a free spirit. Besides her parents of Pittsfield with whom she resided; she leaves a sister: Danielle R. Wendell of Pittsfield; two brothers: William P. Wendell and his wife Anna of Pittsfield, and Jerred X. Wendell of Pittsfield; two nieces to whom she was like a mother: Savannah L. Gomes and Aurora E. Huff, both of Pittsfield; and her maternal grandmother: Henrietta R. Aldrich of Pittsfield. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather: Robert L. Aldrich; and by her paternal grandparents, Rene P. Wendell, Sr. and Agnes E. Soutier Wendell.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours for Melissa will be WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 23, 2015 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the DERY FUNERAL HOME 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 24, 2015 at 9:15 AM from the funeral home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Saint Joseph's Church, celebrated by the Rev. Msgr. Michael Shershanovich, pastor.
