Obituary for Melissa Marie Launt McKnight
Melissa Launt McKnight, 50, born in Pittsfield MA, gained her wings and entered the gates of heaven on Wednesday, December 8th, 2021.
Her pride and joy were her daughters: Brittany and Alexandra McKnight. Melissa worked as a nail technician at Suite 4 Salon and Cranwell, as well as a secretary for Quality Auto Body.
Melissa was the most amazing woman, she cared deeply about everyone and she loved with all of her heart. Melissa enjoyed taking trips to the beach and watching the sunset. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her family and her 2 beloved dogs Harry and Daizy.
Melissa will be remembered for the loving, beautiful person she always was.
Melissa is preceded by her paternal grandparents, Donald Launt and Mary Launt. Maternal grandparents: Robert Belcher and Victoria Belcher. She is survived by her parents, Donald Launt and Christine Launt. Daughters, Brittany McKnight and Alexandra McKnight and ex-husband Timothy McKnight. Sister, Mary Launt and partner James Chapman. Sister, Melanie Launt and partner Marc Murphy of Westport Ct., nephews, Mason Launt and Tristan Murphy. Nieces, Olivia and Lana Murphy and great nieces, Lilliana, Maizey and Kailanie Launt, whom she adored. As well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours will be held, FRIDAY, December 17, 2021 from 2 to 5 p.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be out to “Susan F. Smith Center for Women's Cancer” at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and mailed to the funeral home. This is in honor of her sister’s battle with breast cancer.
