Obituary for Maurice W. O'Donnell
Maurice William O'Donnell, 71, of 57 Sheffield Street, Pittsfield, died Friday, February 21, 2014,
at Hillcrest Commons.
Born in Pittsfield on July 6, 1942, a son of Maurice L. and Mary McInerney O'Donnell, he was a
1961 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mr. O'Donnell was a self-employed painting contractor for twenty-five years. He had also been
employed by the former Grand Union Supermarkets where he was an assistant manager in the
Pittsfield store.
He enjoyed Muzzle loading competitions, as well as gardening, fishing and
golfing.
Mr. O'Donnell leaves his wife, the former Joyce P. Griffin, whom he married July 6, 1993.
He is also survived by a son, Timothy O'Donnell, and his wife, Tyne Allshouse of Pittsfield a brother, Kevin O'Donnell and his wife, Darlene, of
Pittsfield; a stepdaughter, Shenna Burke and her husband, James, of Pittsfield, and a stepson, Paul
"Corky" Greenleaf and his wife, Kristen, of Fort Myers, Fla.; as well as seven grand-children, Sadie, Sam,
Justin, Hannah, Eyan, Rylan and Smith and was pre-deceased by a daughter, Callie O'Donnell. Maury's family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the staff on Unit 3 at Hillcrest Commons for their hard work and huge hearts.
FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Maurice William O'Donnell will be held Wednesday February 24, at 11am
at DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at
the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Unit 3 at Hillcrest Commons in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
