Obituary for Maureen Sheerin Cahill

Maureen Rita Sheerin Cahill, 75, of 74 Prospect St., Cheshire, was called home on Thursday June 16, 2016 at Berkshire Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born in Pittsfield, on September 29, 1940, the daughter of the late John F. and Mary E. Coppolino Sheerin. She was educated in Pittsfield schools and attended St. Joseph's High School.
Primarily a homemaker, Maureen worked for twenty plus years in the deli at Harry's Supermarket. She enjoyed gardening and attending to her flowers, scratch tickets, playing the lottery, cooking, sitting on her deck relaxing and spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
Maureen is survived by her daughter; Tina M. Amlaw (David) of Pittsfield, her two sons; Earl R. Cahill Jr. of Cheshire (Keith Taliaferro) and Scott M. Cahill (Suzan) of Cheshire, her grandchildren; Megan L. Trivilino (Adam) of Mashpee, Joseph M. Amlaw of Pittsfield, Emily S. Cahill of Cheshire, Jonathan J.T. Cahill of Cheshire and Kyle M. Cahill of Cheshire, and the light of her life, her great-grandson Jojo M. Schufreider, a.k.a. "little munchkin" of Cheshire, two sisters; Judith Keltz of Rochester, NY and Mary Ellen Rando (Robert) of Pittsfield and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister; Rosemary Vinette, two brothers; John F. Sheerin Jr. and James E. Sheerin, and two twin grandchildren; Matthew S. Cahill and Ellen R. Cahill.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of 2 South at BMC and Dr. Brooks and the nurses and staff at the BMC Cancer Center.
Maureen's children would also like to thank their father, Earl R. Cahill Sr., for his love and support during this difficult time.

FUNERAL NOTICE – At Maureen's request there are no services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Maureen's memory can be made to the BMC Cancer Center in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield who is handling arrangements.
