Obituary for Maura J. Fissel

Maura J. Fissel, 52, of Windsor, passed away Friday, June 18, 2010, surrounded by her loving family at the Hebrew Home and Hospital.
Born in Springfield, Mass., to Robert L. and Mary Coughlin O'Brien, she was a 1975 graduate of Pittsfield High School where she served as Class Treasurer for several years. In 1979, she graduated with a degree in accounting from Bentley College.
She was a business analyst for many years at Arrowpoint Capital in Farmington, and a former longtime employee of Aetna Insurance Co.
Maura was very involved with the Windsor Giants Midget Football League and was an avid reader, but her true passion was her family who will miss her dearly.
Besides her parents of Pittsfield, she leaves her sons, Robert O. Fissel of North Walpole, N.H., and Daniel Fissel of Windsor; daughters, Michaela I. Fissel and Katherine M. Fissel, both of Windsor; grandson, Dillan Cabral; her dear friend, Scott Kierstead of Hinsdale, Mass.; five sisters, Katherine M. O'Brien of Pittsfield, Margaret M. O'Brien and her fianc�, Nicholas Gross, of Farmington, Ellen M. O'Brien of Dorchester, Mass.; Paula E. Turnbull and her husband, Martin, of Westford, Mass.; Michaela M. O'Brien and her husband, Nathaniel Reade, of Florence, Mass.; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Bridget A. O'Brien.
She will be greatly missed by her countless friends and acquaintances.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, June 22, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church on Elm St., Pittsfield, concelebrated by the Rev. James K. Joyce, Pastor, and her cousin, the Rev. Joseph R. O'Brien, Pastor of Holy Spirit Church in East Greenbush, N.Y. Her family will receive friends on Sunday, June 20, from 4-7 p.m. at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor, Conn. and on Monday, June 21, from 4-8 p.m. at the Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield.
