Matthew Robert Provencher, 38, passed away from natural causes on November 2, 2015. Son of Robert E. Provencher and Michele Carron Provencher of Hinsdale, MA. Matthew was a graduate of Wahconah Regional High School Class of 1995. He attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park NY. Throughout his youth Matthew was active in sports, at the CYC, Dalton Basketball, Dalton-Hinsdale Little League, and Dalton Babe Ruth Baseball. Matthew was an experienced chef having worked in many restaurants in Berkshire County, as well as Boston, California, North Carolina and Florida. He also worked as a private live in chef for Dr.'s in Berkshire County and Florida. Matthew's loves included playing his guitar, song writing, the ocean, New England Patriots football and the Boston Red Sox, his dogs Carolina and Maggie, and his family. He MOST cherished his 2 sons; Dylan and Austin. Matthew leaves his sons Dylan Matthew Provencher and Austin Brooks Provencher, and his former wife Allison Baumstark of Gainesville, FL. His brother; Aaron Neal Provencher, and his parents; Rob and Michele of Hinsdale. He also leaves his maternal grandfather Maurice N. Carron and step grandmother Joan Simmons and his paternal step grandmother Jean Provencher. Many loving Aunts and Uncles and numerous cousins. He is predeceased by his uncle & Godfather David M. Carron, his grandmother Patricia Reid Carron, grandfather Robert E. Provencher, grandmother Katharine Kettles Wunder and his cousin; Raquelle Paris.

Funeral Notice: A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life for Matthew R. Provencher who died November 2, 2015 will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Elks Club, 27 Union St. Pittsfield MA conducted by the Rev. Joni Carron and the Rev. Stephanie Filliault. Come share a story, sing a song, share tears, laughter and food, with all of us who love Matthew. A laid back, loving, come as you are celebration. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in memory of Matthew can be made to the Dylan and Austin Provencher Trust Fund to be established at Greylock Federal Credit Union in care of the DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 main Street, Dalton, MA 01226 which is handling arrangements.
