Obituary for MASTER SGT. Terrance J. Lampro

MASTER SGT. U.S.MARINE CORPS, TERRANCE JUSTIN LAMPRO, 71, of 406 Maple Street, Hinsdale, died Saturday, August 1, at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Washington, Massachusetts, on May 30, 1938, a son of Wilfred and
Gertrude L. Dunn Lampro, he was educated in Washington and Pittsfield schools.
Master Sgt. Lampro served with the United States Marine Corps for 17 years, 3
months, 23 days, earned the rank of Master Sergeant on July 2, 1973. On August 14,
1973, he transferred to Fleet Marine Corps Reserve where he served another 2 years 2
months and 2 days. He was honorably discharged on October 31, 1975.
Following his military career, he went to work for Crane & Co., Inc., where he
worked as a computer programmer for 12 years.
He enjoyed bowling at Ken's Bowl. He had a passion for traveling, seeing new places and meeting new people. Most of all, he enjoyed being with his family.
Mr. Lampro leaves his wife, the former Patricia Ann Spiess, whom he married
January 20, 1960, at St. Agnes Church in Dalton.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Michael Shane Lampro and his partner,
Steven Frechette, of Washington; three daughters, Deborah J. Cox and her husband,
Jay, of Midlothian, Virginia; Julie A. Chee of Cheshire, Karen M. Daniels of the town
of Washington; four brothers, Jerome Lampro and Justin Lampro, both of California,
Keith Lampro of New Mexico, and Kevin Lampro of Otis; a sister, Diane Litchfield of
Maine; and 13 grandchildren.
Mr. Lampro was pre-deceased by a son, Terrance Justin Lampro, Jr., who died
of leukemia on December 17, 1971. He was also pre-deceased by two brothers, Wilfred
Lampro and Brian Lampro.


FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for MASTER SGT. U.S. MARINE CORPS
TERRANCE JUSTIN LAMPRO, will be Thursday, August 6, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Agnes
Church celebrated by Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta, Pastor. Burial will follow in St.
Patrick's Cemetery in Hinsdale. There are no calling hours. The omission of flowers is
requested. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma
Society in care of DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 East Main Street, Dalton.
