Obituary for Mary R. Zack

MARY ROSE ZACK, 92, of 12 Ridgeway Avenue, Pittsfield, died Monday, February 14, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Newark, New Jersey, on January 2, 1919, a daughter of Harry and Rose
Sajdak Rapkowicz, she was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mrs. Zack was a homemaker.
During World War II, she worked for Associated Transport in Pittsfield.
She had been a member of St. Martin's Episcopal Church and served on its
Altar Guild. She was a member of the Mothers of Twins Club.
She enjoyed flower gardening and playing bridge, as well as bowling,
golfing at GEAA, and listening to the Red Sox games on the radio.
Her husband, Peter Zack, whom she married June 7, 1941, died June 23,
2003. Mrs. Zack is survived by two sons, Peter Zack, Jr., and his wife, Margaret,
of Porter, Maine, and John S. Zack of Pittsfield; a daughter, Sonya M. Zack and
her husband, John Kennedy, of Boston; three granddaughters, Sanno Zack, Britta
Zack, and Annika Zack; and a sister, Sonya Boe, of Gainesville, Florida.
She was pre-deceased by five brothers, Paul, William, Michael, Peter, and Nicholas Rapkowicz.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for MARY ROSE ZACK will be held Friday, February 18,
at 1:00 p.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Jennifer Gregg, Assistant
Rector of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be at a later date
in Pittsfield Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions
in memory of Mrs. Zack may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of
the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, 01201.
