Obituary for Mary H. Vadala

MARY H. VADALA, 83, formerly of 84 Dodge Avenue, died Tuesday afternoon at Berkshire Medical Center. She had resided at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility for the past year and a half.Born in Pittsfield, May 31, 1923, a daughter of Charles and Catherine Osudchuk Huska, she attended Pittsfield schools.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Vadala had, at one time, worked for the former Berkshire Woolen Mill and for the former Boston Auto Gage, both of which were in Pittsfield.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed entertaining
at her home and at her summer home at Lake Ashmere in Hinsdale. She also enjoyed playing cards. Her husband, John J. Vadala, whom she married July 1, 1950, at St. John
The Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, died June 15, 1996. Mrs. Vadala is survived by two brothers, William Huska of Dalton and Stephen
Huska of Pittsfield; two sisters, Ann Lynch of Webster and Helen Trasatti of Dalton.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for MARY H. VADALA, who died Tuesday, September 26, will be Friday, September 29, at 8:15 a.m., from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church, celebrated by Rev. James K. Joyce, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be today, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Vadala may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to St. Jude Children's Hospital in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield. Mrs. Vadala also leaves her brothers-in-law, John Trasatti and John M. Berutich;and sisters-in-law, Florence Huska, Mary Huska, Bernice Huska, and Rose Vadala, Anne Berutich, and Mary Vadala, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a brother, John Huska and three sisters, Dorothy Arpante, Nancy Palmer, Jessie
LaMarche.
