Obituary for Mary Campagna Slater

Mary Rose Campagna Slater, 87, of Pittsfield died Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield, Ma. On May 1, 1926 a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Josephine Mauro Campagna. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mary had been employed by the General Electric Company for 47 years retiring in 1987 as a secretary. The joy of her life was her grandson and her family.
She is survived by her son, William J. Slater III and his wife Cheryl of Pittsfield. Her beloved grandson, Aaron M. Slater of Pittsfield. Three brothers, James J. Campagna and his wife Jane of Pittsfield, Alfred Campagna and his wife Eileen of Lawrenceville, Georgia and Robert Campagna and his wife Antoinette of Pittsfield. Two sisters, Santina Valenti and her husband Dario of Pittsfield and Helen Alberti and her husband Charles of Salt Lake City, Utah. A sister in law Esther "Jan" Campagna and brother in law, Carl E. Slater both of Pittsfield. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Agnes Bilia, Concetta M. Kellar and Laura J. Slater and by a brother. Ernest S. Campagna.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Mary R. Campagna Slater will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, Ma. Burial will be private in the family plot at Saint Joseph's Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12 Noon until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorials in her memory may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Pittsfield or to the Meals on Wheels Program, both in care of the funeral home.
