Obituary for Mary Rose Simeone (Bona)
Mary Rose Bona Simeone, 95, formerly of Pine Grove Manor, Dalton, passed away December 7, 2020 at Hillcrest Commons.
Born in Lee, Massachusetts on September 4, 1925, she was the daughter of Rosario and Gracia Avanzato Bona.
A graduate of Lee High School, she also attended Berkshire Community College.
Mrs. Simeone worked as an assistant supervisor of outpatient billing at Berkshire Medical Center, retiring in 1983. She continued to work part time at Wahconah Regional High School. She last worked at HospiceCare in the Berkshires as an administrative assistant.
Mrs. Simeone enjoyed bowling in the Women’s Ten Pin Bowling League, and was a volunteer at Hillcrest Hospital and Elder Services. A communicant of St. Agnes Church, Mrs. Simeone also took pleasure in traveling.
She is survived by her three daughters, Marion Schleicher and Walter of Pittsfield, Julie Karusion and Arnold of Hinsdale, and Christine Simeone of Dalton; sons, Gino Simeone and Linda of Westminster, MA, Lewis Simeone and Laura of Pittsfield and Joseph Simeone of Virginia. Grandchildren, Keith, Marc, Lee, Rico, Nick, Adam, Carrie, Jodie, Renne, Julia Mae, Givannah and ten great grandchildren. She also leaves her brother, Tony Bona of Dalton, sister, Anne Serridge of Dalton and brother-in-law, Lee Gomes of Dalton, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Augie Bona, and sister, Clara Gomes; as well as her former husband, Eugene Simeone, Sr.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for Mrs. Simone will be private. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lee, MA. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Elder Services in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
