Obituary for Mary B. Roy
Mary B. Roy, 87, of 384 Lebanon Ave Pittsfield, MA died Sunday December 6, 2015 at Springside Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center of Pittsfield.
Born on December 7, 1927 in Pittsfield a daughter of the late Giuseppe and Yolanda Sablone Belli. She was a 1943 graduate of Pittsfield High School. She had been employed for the Pittsfield Public Schools as the manager of their cafeteria for over 30 years, retiring in 1997. She especially enjoyed her time cooking for students at Pittsfield High School, Stearns Middle School, St. Mark's Middle School and Herberg Middle School. Mary loved to cook and feed people, especially her students and family, spending time with her family also brought her great joy, and she was also an avid shopper.
Mary leaves her son; Donald G. Roy and his wife Elissa and their children Brandon and his wife Mary of Somerville, MA and Ava Roy of El Cerrito, CA., her daughter; Rain Roy of Pittsfield and her children Jessyka and her husband Bruce and their children Kendall, Alex and Avery of Manchester, NH., Megan Wannamaker and her children Oliva and Santino of Ridgefield, NJ., Brother; Americo Belli and his wife Theresa of Pittsfield and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was predeceased by her husband; Fernand I. Roy whom she married on September 10, 1946 and was married for 62 years prior to his passing on September 5, 2009, and her sister Clara Belli.
Funeral Notice: Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA with the Rev. William Murphy pastor of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church in Housatonic officiating. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph's Cemetery. A calling hour will precede the funeral service, TODAY Tuesday December 8th from 10 to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials in her memory may be made to the Activity Fund at Springside Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in care of the funeral home.
