Obituary for Mary Ann Lancia Pergiovanni

Mary Ann Lancia Pergiovanni, 103, formerly of 110 Richardson Street, Cheshire, MA died Tuesday April 4, 2017 at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility in Pittsfield. Born on January 19, 1914 in Cheshire, MA, a daughter of Antonio and Antonia Farella Lancia. She attended schools in Cheshire. Primarily a homemaker Mary at onetime had worked as site director for the nutrition program in Cheshire for seven years and also for the Adams-Cheshire Regional School District for four years in the cafeteria. She also worked at the Berkshire Mills in Adams many years ago. Mary was a longtime communicant of Saint Mary of the Assumption Church, she was a member of the Senior Center of Cheshire and Savoy, MA. She was a member of the Sons of Italy ITAM Lodge #564 of Pittsfield. Mary enjoyed gardening, cooking, knitting, music and dancing. She was the wife of Sylvester M. Pergiovanni whom she married October 21, 1944, he died October 7, 2008. She is survived by her son Michael A. Pergiovanni of Randolph, MA and her daughter, Regina A. Cardonnel of Cheshire, MA. Two grandchildren, Kelly Cardonnel of Adams and Nicholas Cardonnel of Cheshire. One great granddaughter, Shayleigh Cardonnel. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mary was the last of the Lancia siblings.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Mary A. Pergiovanni will be held Monday, April 10, 2017 with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Saint Mary of the Assumption Church at 10:00 A.M. celebrated by the Rev. Matthew Guidi, pastor. Burial will be later in the spring in Cheshire Cemetery. There are No calling hours. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials in her memory may be made to St. Mary of the Assumption Church or to the Cheshire Fire Dept. both in care of DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME, 121 North State Road, Cheshire, MA 01225 which is handling arrangements. Mary will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
