Obituary for Mary Alice Levernoch

Mary Alice Levernoch, 85, of the Town of Washington, died Sunday, October 28, 2012, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on September 1, 1927, a daughter of Edward and Mary Ward
Carrington, she was educated in Lee and Becket schools and was a 1946 graduate of
Chester High School. Mrs. Levernoch had assisted her late husband in the operation of Levernoch Brothers Oil Company in Pittsfield for several years.
She had also been a cook at the Washington Elementary School from 1968 to
1976. Mrs. Levernoch was a longtime member of Becket Federated Women's Society. She was also a member of the Becket Center Ladies Guild and a member of the Town of Washington Council on Aging.
Known as the Lemon Pie Lady, Mrs. Levernoch enjoyed baking for local bake sales, church functions, and suppers. She also enjoyed sewing and bird watching. Her greatest joy was being a good mom and grandma to her family.
Her husband, Erwin Levernoch, whom she married May 23, 1953, in the Becket Federated Church, died October 1, 1995.
Mrs. Levernoch is survived by a daughter, Linda M. Levernoch, of Washington;
a son, Mark A. Levernoch and his wife, Rose, of Washington; two grandchildren, Jessica
Sampson and her husband, David of Washington, and Timothy Levernoch and his wife,
Dawn, of Norfolk, Virginia; two great grandchildren Evan and Bryanna Sampson; and a
sister, Evelyn Fletcher of Becket. She was pre-deceased by three brothers, Robert Carrington, Frank Carrington, and
George Carrington.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Mary Alice Levernoch will be held Saturday, November 3, at
1:00 p.m., at Becket Federated Church with Rev. Kevin C. Smail, Pastor, officiating. There are no calling hours. Burial will be private in the Maple Street Cemetery in Hinsdale. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Levernoch may be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires or to the Becket Federated Church, both in care of the DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 East Main Street, Dalton.
