Obituary for Mary M. Burke

Miss Mary Margaret Burke, 95, formerly of 53 Sunset Street, Pittsfield, MA died Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility in Pittsfield where she has resided for the past three years. Born on December 8, 1919 in Pittsfield a daughter of the late Edward M. and Katherine L. Roche Burke. She attended schools in Pittsfield and also attended Saint Joseph's Central High School. Miss Burke had been employed for the General Electric Company for 40 years retiring in 1982; she spent most of that time in the Ordnance Department. She was a communicant of Saint Charles Church; she enjoyed traveling, crocheting and going to Foxwoods. She was a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners Clubs, a member of AARP, a past board member of the Women's Club of Pittsfield, a member of the Ralph Froio Senior Center and a member of the Quality Time Club at Greylock Credit Union.
She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and great great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Edward M., John J. and Francis W. Burke.

Funeral Notice: Funeral services will be held Monday, July 27, 2015 at 9:45 A.M. from the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA. followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at Saint Charles Church, celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor. Burial will follow in the family plot at Saint Joseph's Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9 to 9:45 A.M.
In lieu of flowers memorials in her memory may be made to the Sisters of Saint Joseph in care of the funeral home. The family will would like to extend sincere gratitude to the staff at Mount Greylock and Hospice Care in the Berkshires for all their compassion and care shown to Mary over the years.
