Obituary for Mary A. Borletto

Mary A. Borletto, 90, of 381 Dalton Avenue, Pittsfield, died Friday, August 28, 2015, at
Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility.
Born in Pittsfield on May 16, 1925, the daughter of Wilfred and Agnes Stomski Gillette,
she was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1943 graduate of Pittsfield High School, and then went to work for General Electric Company in the Transformer Department.
Following her marriage and raising their daughter, Mrs. Borletto returned to the work force taking a part-time job as a clerk-typist at Kauffman Bros., known today as KB Toys, and later worked at Robert Hall's as a sales clerk. Mrs. Borletto then took a full-time position with General Electric Company as a clerk-typist in the Ordnance Systems Division. In 1980, she was promoted to secretary working on the Bradley Vehicle Program. She retired in 1985 with 38-1/2 years service.
Mrs. Borletto had been a communicant of the former St. Mary the Morning Star Church.
She enjoyed playing golf and spending time with her grandchildren.
Her husband, Joseph P. Borletto, whom she married November 16, 1946, died August 6,
2004.
Mrs. Borletto is survived by a daughter, Carol A. McGovern, and her husband, William,
of Pittsfield; a sister, Patricia Astore and her husband, Richard, of Pittsfield; a brother, Robert
Gillette and his wife, Cheryl, of Hixson, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Joseph McGovern and his wife Holly and William McGovern, Jr.; three great grandchildren, Ryleigh McGovern, Joseph McGovern, and
Averie McGovern; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by a brother, Wilfred Gillette.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Mary A. Borletto will be held Monday, August 31, at 12:00 noon at
DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield with Rev. Peter A. Gregory, Pastor of St. Charles Church, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Calling hours will precede the service beginning at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Eleanor Sonsini Animal
Shelter in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
